New CRE Cohort Underway

by Janice Palmer

Our newest cohort of students training to become Commissioned Ruling Elders has one gathering under their belts, and that went very well. The topic for that day was “The Bible.” Everyone was eager and engaged–lots of thoughtful questions and good conversation. Those who are participating in this newest group include the following:

Robert Brooks and Louise Van Poll (Huron), Tracy Bultena and Dylan Van Meveran (Sioux Falls), Donna and Robby Flint and Elizabeth Fox (Brookings), Lance Griese (Lake City), and Marshall Edelman (Willow Lake).

We are grateful both that the Lake Gospel Church at Willow Lake is hosting our trainings, and that their pastor, Steven Johnson, is participating, too.

This group’s second training was cancelled due to weather and road conditions. It  will be made up next summer.

As for the CREs who are now in the continuing ed phase of this ministry development program, weather and road conditions also postponed the training for those who meet at Bison. That gathering will take place on November 9 (we hope). The crew that gathers in Watertown will meet on November 16 (we hope).
