CRE Update

Our newest class of students training to become Commissioned Ruling Elders were not able to meet in October due to inclement weather and poor road conditions. However with perseverance, attentiveness and the willingness to stay late and work hard, the class was able to make up that session in November.

The topic for that day was “Pastoral Visitation” led by the Rev. Carolyn Vissier. This was an excellent class filled with real scenarios and hands on experiences. There were a lot of questions and thoughtful examination of motives and techniques.

The biggest take-away tidbit was to recognize that any visit by a member of the congregation is a pastoral visit and that this is a calling open to all members, not just clergy.

The group now has a month off and will resume meetings in January.
